Lucy Trashing the Dress in Devon

Some of you may recognise Lucy as I photographed Lucy & Nick’s wedding earlier this year at the stunning Stoodleigh Court. Afterwards she very kindly agreed to help me with a wedding fair at Westpoint during which I managed to convince her that Trashing her Dress was the right thing to do… actually she didn’t need much convincing at all Well this morning the wait was over, Lucy braved the cold December temperature as we ventured out in and around Exmouth. I love doing these shoots, they’re soo much fun. As always here’s a sneak preview of what’s to come …

Carrie & Adam Trash the Dress in Cornwall!

Carrie & Adam are down in Cornwall on their honeymoon after getting married in Bristol last week. Sadly i didn’t photograph their wedding but they did book me to do a trash the dress session. Now you know how much i love these, they’re always such fun however i was a little concerned when i woke up to strong winds and heavy rain. Thankfully the rain cleared (a little) for us. This was never going to stop Carrie though, she was amazing and determined to get into the sea, even in Mid december and having got my feet wet i can vouch for how cold it was! Adam was the wimp and got out as quick as he got in…. Sorry Adam, Carrie made me say it … Anyway, he’s a sneak preview of the day…..

Could you Trash an Ian Stuart Dress? Nah, neither could I or Hannah although we certainly came very close to it and i can’t promise it stayed clean either. What i can promise though is thgat we had an awesome morning with some equally awesome shots to boot. With the session lasting approx 3 hours we managed to get in a huge variety of photos from standing in the middle of the road to having your husband jump over you head on a motorbike! Here’s a small selection of the photos we took today….

Trash the Dress sessions are rapidly gaining popularity here in the UK and i’m really pleased to have been involved in several shoots myself with my 1st one here in Devon about a year ago. I really LOVE doing these as they’re so much fun & the results are awesome. Here’s a few from one i did a couple of weeks ago in Exeter & Westward Ho back when the sun was still shining

On the beach ‘Trashing the Dress’ in Cornwall

Trashing the Dress is something that has taken the US by storm and is starting to make it’s appearance here in the UK. I’ve been talking about doing one for months and when my sister said she’d be up for it the day after her wedding i jumped at the chance. As far as i’m aware this is the first ever one in Cornwall.

Unlike it’s name the dress doesn’t actually ‘have’ to get trashed, in fact the dry cleaner is confident my sisters dress will look like new. What it does do though is allow you to wear the dress once again in locations you wouldn’t normally be seen in a wedding dress and get some really fun photos while doing it. Here’s the photos from her Trash the Dress session at Marazion, i now can’t wait until the next one .
