The Rill Estate, Devon | The Wedding of Charlotte & Pete.

This weekend I was out a relatively new venue for Wedding’s here in Devon, The Rill Estate for Charlotte & Pete’s Wedding. It’s situated in Buckfastleigh and has amazing views across the countryside. With it’s modern decor converted barns I can see this being another popular venue. The day itself started at the Andrew Hill Hair Salon in Torquay for Charlotte, her mum and her Bridesmaid before we headed back to Charlotte’s mums home where I was treated to some lovely homemade soup before heading off down the road to the stunning Berry Pomeroy Church. The service itself was lovely and very emotional with Charlotte struggling but just about managing to hold back the tears. The timing on the day couldn’t have been more perfect as the sun broke through the clouds exactly as we left the church, it can’t be a coincidence, i’m convinced it’s all thanks to my sun dance . Thanks for letting me be part of your day guy’s, I had yet again a fab time, see you when you return from your honeymoon

Bovey Castle | The Wedding of Jill & Gary

I was back at the stunning Bovey Castle photographing Jill & Gary’s wedding on Wednesday this week and what a day.. Despite being a little cloudy to start with in the morning the sun soon came out in perfect timing for their ceremony which was held outside on the steps. Following the ceremony Jill was surprised with a visit and a good luck kiss from a chimney sweep that just so happened to be passing from Cornwall… What a coincidence . Some of you may recognise a couple of guests as Jill’s parents own YourBigEvent and Wedding Cakes by Annelise maybe even have booked them for your own wedding. This has turned out perfectly for Jill & Gary as they not only have experts for the disco and the cake but they also have the contacts to book the best entertainment and of course Photographer, hehe The afternoon tea was served with amazing and delicate china, it looked stunning all laid out. The evening entertainment, other than the disco of course was the amazing Magician Mark Leveridge, I was really concentrating and STILL couldn’t see how he did those tricks! and the best Casino in the South West, in fact the only one i think that uses real casino tables – Creme de la Creme Casino. An amazing day was had by all, i can’t think of anything that could have made it any better than it was, thanks guys

The Glendorgal Hotel, Newquay | The Wedding of Michelle & Alex

This bank holiday weekend i was down in sunny Newquay, Cornwall photographing Michelle & Alex’s wedding at the Contemporary Glendorgal Hotel. With amazing sea views and access to its own private beach it doesn’t get much better than this. I was in double heaven this weekend as Michelle’s dad owns a collection of vintage cars which Michelle and her bridesmaids proudly arrived in. The sound from the Aston Martin was something else, never mind the wedding i could have sat and photographed the cars all day… i thought the better of it though …. and I’m glad i did, these guy’s rocked . We were also blessed with an amazing sunset to finish the day off perfectly. An amazing day was had yet again by all, thanks once again guy’s, i feel blessed and can’t think of another job I’d rather be doing…. anyway, onto the piccies…

Orchardleigh House, Somerset | The Hindu Wedding of Sheila & Alastair Pt1

This weekend I was up at the stunning Orchardleigh House for a 2 day wedding. On Friday it was part one which is a traditional Hindu ceremony and tomorrow it will be the Christian part. I’ve been looking forward to this for a while now as I was expecting it to be full of vibrant colour and as you can see I wasn’t disappointed. Sheila had her family from India, California and Dubai come over for her wedding and day one they were treated to some good old English mist and rain… What a shame. However, this didn’t dampen the spirits and the ceremony was held indoors. I absolutely loved this ceremony, the Hindu priest was excellent and put a lot of our own priests to shame.

Orchardleigh House, Somerset | The Wedding of Sheila & Alastair Pt2

Phew, after Sheila & Alastair’s amazing Hindu ceremony today yesterday i was back at Orchardleigh House in Somerset for part 2 of their wedding, the Christian part. Sheila was carried from Orchardleigh House down to the All Saints church in nearby Lullington in a stunning vintage Rolls Royce. The church being quite a quaint little church was full to capacity with all of their 135 or so guests all waiting to set eye’s on Sheila and her wedding dress. Following the ceremony it was back to Orchardleigh House where the drinks reception was waiting for them and their guests. Thankfully despite the forecasts the weather stayed dry and even though a large number of the guests were still up and partying at 4am the previous morning everyone was having a ball

The first dance kicked off at around 9pm and from there the party went instantly into full swing, although i was only there for another 20 mins of so it was obvious that it was going to be another late one… good times

Langdon Court Hotel, Plymouth | The Wedding of Leanne & Ed.

For the second of my weddings this weekend i was down at the Langdon Court Hotel, Nr Plymouth for the wedding of Leanne & Ed. I started off at the China Fleet Golf & Country Club where i photographed Leanne and the bridesmaids getting ready before heading off to Botus Fleming Church to get some of the boy’s before the ceremony. Leanne couldn’t stop smiling all morning and was as cool as a cucumber, not a nerve in sight . Back at Langdon we were treated to some sunshine while we took some photos before heading in. Evening entertainment was with a local band who sounded awesome, the dance floor was packed as i left, a perfect way to top of a great day

Folkestone, Kent | The Wedding of Clare & Tony

Phew! This weekend i’ve been a right busy beever with 2 weddings either side of the country! My first wedding was for good friends of mine Clare & Tony Nr Folkstone in Kent. I first met Tony around 10 years ago when i worked for the BBC in London and can remember hearing him go on about this girl he’d met called Clare on our night shifts together…and here they are, now husband and wife… Woohoo .
Clare & Tony are the first couple to get married in this church in 10 years, the church has been derelict fora long time and they had to request special permission from the Arch Bishop of Canterbury to get married here… Clare, Tony and all of their friends pulled together cleaning the church floors and decorating it for the last couple of weeks and it looked perfect.. It has such character, as soon as i saw it i realised why they wanted to get married her so badly… I’m not going to waffle on too much for now as i know all you want to do really is look at the piccies and i’m exhausted so here they are

Killerton House, Devon | The Wedding of Kate & Marcus

This weekend I was just down the road once again photographing Kate & Marcus wedding at Bradninch Church followed by their reception at the stunning Killerton House bringing with them family from across the UK and also from across the pond in Canada.
This weekend was a refreshing change from the last few weeks as the vicar was brilliant, had the congregation laughing and joining in and let me do my thing with the photos, even suggesting I position myself in places I usually have to beg other vicars for… Kate travelled to the church in a stunning white Rolls Royce with her proud dad and looked fabulous.
Once the ceremony was over we travelled to the reception at Killerton house where we did things a little out of the norm which was nice. The guests were all treated to an afternoon tea or sandwiches and scones, followed by the speeches and then we proceeded with the family photos before tucking into the main meal of the day – a Hog Roast… Oh boy did that smell good .. All in all I have to say it worked quite well… I hope you had a good party guy’s, have a fab honeymoon in Canada and I’ll see you when you get back

Escott Church & Reed Hall, Exeter | The Wedding of Francine & Andrew

This weekend i was at the lovely Escott Church near Ottery St Mary for the wedding of Francine & Andrew. As you can see from the pictures this was yet another fun filled day, especially with Christian, the best man and his antics . Francine & Andrew brought with them friends and family from as far afield as the south of France & Wales and i have to say how kind it was of Francine’s family to bring us some of their sunshine, if they could just leave some here when they return that would be even better . An amazing day was had by all, well all except for the 30 mins Best Man speech where Andrew was a contestant on a ‘This is your life / Who wants to be a millionaire’ game thought up by the best Man, absolutely brilliant, totally unique and hilarious… well for us..

Buckerell Lodge, Exeter | The Wedding of Lisa & Ian

This weekend I was over at Bovey Church for Lisa & Ian’s wedding followed by their reception in Exeter at Buckerell Lodge. The day started off at Lisa’s parents where it was amazingly calm. It was lovely to again meet up with Justine from Finishing Touch who, as always, did an amazing job with the make up. It wasn’t until after the makeup that I got to see the dress and WOW, Lisa had a stunning Ian Stuart dress from The Bridal Rooms of Wellswood boutique in Torquay. I believe they also did the custom made jewelry matching the design of her dress perfectly. Then it was onto the boy’s who were treated to the biggest Sausage & Egg sandwich I’ve ever seen by Ian’s mum, honestly it was a foot long!
As mentioned the ceremony was at Bovey Tracey church where unfortunately I couldn’t get many photos of the ceremony due to restrictions imposed by the vicar… and for those that follow my blog yes it was another lady vicar .. That said I did manage to charm her into letting me photograph Lisa walking down the aisle and as long as i stood still at the back i could take a couple from there so all was not totally lost
Thankfully the good weather remained while we travelled back to Exeter for the reception at the Buckerell Lodge Hotel on Topsham Road. There the guests played garden games and chilled in the stunning lawns soaking up the atmosphere and sunshine. Think I’ve waffled on enough now, I know all you want to do really is to look at the piccies so here they are
